We are thrilled to share that the hVMC, as part of the Australian Dementia Network, received funding from the Australian Government's Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. This milestone funding marks the beginning of an exciting journey to bring specialist dementia assessment services to regional and remote Australians who currently face significant barriers to timely diagnosis and support.
This funding will support two key phases of work: first, a co-design process to develop the hVMC model in genuine partnership with the communities, clinicians, and people with lived experience who would use and deliver it; and second, the real-world implementation of that model at our first site, in regional Australia.
This investment recognises the critical need for innovative models of care that can bridge the gap between metropolitan specialist services and regional communities — and we couldn't be more grateful for the support to make it happen.
